Testing

The advantage with Bofors Test Center is that we have access to a very large area while also have a considerable breadth with regard to our testing operations. This affords you the possibility of testing most everything one could desire at our facilities.

At our Test Center we can test any material at all with regard to hardness, durability, elasticity and strength. It just does not matter what it is! It can be, e.g., bolts, nuts, armoured glass, sound insulating glass, steel plate, concrete or electronics. We can test the fire retardance of safety clothing and the shelf-life of face masks.

Our civilian operations also include testing of the explosive charges used to release drill heads in oil drilling stations. The drill can get stuck in the hole when drilling for oil. An explosive charge is used to loosen the shaft and break apart the drill head, so that continued drilling can occur in the same hole.

We can test the intensity of emergency signals and illuminative flares in our specially built tower where we can even create realistic wind conditions. We have a four hundred metre long railway, where we can conduct acceleration and retardation testing on different types of components.

Aside from test our customers’ materials and products, we also do test set-up work and we document test results. We have workshops wholly devoted to testing preparations and for handling and maintaining test items.
